Sway bar bushings (also called stabilizer bar bushings) are rubber or polyurethane components that secure the sway bar to the vehicle's chassis or control arms. Their primary functions are:
Vibration Damping – Absorb shocks and reduce noise transmission from the road to the chassis.
Flexibility & Articulation – Allow slight torsion of the sway bar during suspension movement while maintaining stability.
Friction Reduction – Enable smooth rotation/movement of the sway bar to prevent binding.
Wear Protection – Prevent metal-to-metal contact between the sway bar and mounting brackets, reducing wear.
