For many people, the Stabilizer Bar is just an inconspicuous iron pole, but you may not know that this iron pole will have a significant impact on your car, but you have never truly understood its function.
1. The function of the Stabilizer Bar is that when the left and right wheels pass through the same road surface protrusions or holes, the Stabilizer Bar will not work. However, if the left and right wheels pass through different bumps or holes on the road surface, that is, the horizontal heights of the left and right wheels are not the same, it will cause torsion of the pole body, producing roll resistance to suppress vehicle rolling. That is to say, when the suspension on the left and right sides moves up and down synchronously, the Stabilizer Bar will not take effect. It only takes effect when the suspension on the left and right sides is not synchronized due to road undulations or turning. The Stabilizer Bar only hardens the driving performance when it is in use, unlike hard springs that completely harden the driving performance. If we want to completely rely on springs to reduce the body's roll, we may need very hard springs, and we need to use shock absorbers with high damping coefficients to suppress spring bouncing. In this way, we must bear the aftermath of hard springs and shock absorbers, such as poor road performance and poor tracking when driving on uneven roads. But if combined with an appropriate Stabilizer Bar, it can not only reduce roll, but also avoid sacrificing the necessary comfort and tracking. Therefore, the combination of the Stabilizer Bar and spring is the most feasible way to achieve a compromise between road performance and handling.
2. Attention: The Stabilizer Bar is not randomly added, so be sure to pay attention to the texture and workmanship. - The Stabilizer Bar does not mean that the higher the strength, the better the toughness. If the strength is too high, it will cause you to hang on it for a long time, which is the location where you install the Stabilizer Bar on the car body, Deformation occurs (because the rigidity of the Stabilizer Bar is too good, and the twisting generated during high-speed cornering does not allow the toughness of the Stabilizer Bar to remove this force, so this force causes the body to deform because the steel plate of the body is relatively softer). However, the overly soft Stabilizer Bar cannot improve the rigidity of the vehicle body, and can be said to be a decoration.
